Synopsis
Brutal murders, petty thefts and senseless violence pollute the human world. On the other hand, the lands of death gods are a fleeting, fixed gambling haven. Light Yagami, a clever 17-year-old student from Japan, and Ryuk, the god of death who is sadistic, share one belief: their worlds are ruinous.
Ryuk takes his Death Note to the human world for his own enjoyment. Light discovers it, dismissing the first of its regulations as ridiculous: "The person named in this statement shall pass away.". Light's experimentation involves writing the name of a felon and his first murder, which is unsettling.
Kira, also known as Light is aware of the terrifying godlike power he has, and aims to purge the world of all evil by means of his sinful justice. All too soon. While L is already on the hunt for Kira, the meticulous mastermind detective Light's dazzling performance turns into a bloody duel between her and him. This game will only end when one of them dies.
