Henjin no Salad Bowl - Plot Summary
Private detective Sousuke Kaburaya is just trying to scrape by when Sara da Odin, an imperial princess from somewhere else entirely, literally drops into his life via a portal, landing right on top of him. Not realizing she's completely out of place in a world without magic, Sara starts flinging powerful spells around in public. Naturally, this causes quite a stir and forces Sousuke to reluctantly invite her to stay with him. Between the internet, manga, and all the handy modern conveniences Japan offers, Sara slowly starts to get the hang of this new world and even becomes Sousuke's assistant in the process. Meanwhile, Sara's personal knight, Livia de Udis, also makes the portal jump but ends up somewhere else entirely. She runs into a homeless man who, interestingly enough, takes her in without batting an eye at her unusual background or quirks. Even though she's fallen from a position of nobility, Livia adapts remarkably quickly to her new, homeless existence, settling into a life worlds away from what she knew before. Even though Sara and Livia are living such different lives, their positive spirits and drive to make the best of things really leave their mark on the people they meet as they navigate all the ups and downs of life in Japan.
