Many people—known as Pokémon trainers—capture and train Pokémon, often with the goal of battling others; they are strange beings with an incredible variety of different talents and looks. Young Satoshi finally has a chance to make his dream of becoming a Pokémon trainer come true on his 10th birthday; he has not only dreamed of being a "Pokémon Master" but also has All three Pokémon open to starting trainers have already been claimed; only Pikachu, a defiant Electric-type Pokémon remains. Still, this chance meeting would kick off an epic trip and a lifelong friendship! Satoshi and Pikachu travel across gorgeous, expansive areas with their friends Kasumi, a Water-type trainer, and Takeshi, a Rock-type trainer, set off on a journey to become the very best. But threat waits at every turn. Always near is the notorious Team Rocket, looking to acquire strong Pokémon by wicked plots. As Satoshi also tries to earn the eight Pokémon Gym Badges he will need to challenge the Pokémon League and finally assert the title of Pokémon Master, it will be up to him and his buddies to stop their efforts.
