Synopsis
When hip-hop has become the supreme culture in the future, a show called Phantom Lives draws out battle rappers. There they transform their intense passion into awe-inspiring illusions for their fans using "Phantometal" – a substance that responds to the DNA of the rapper to create the fantastical visions. Instead, rappers “react” to traumatic memories and recapture painful experiences in Trap Reactions of “phantomemories” in response to Phantometal. According to the intensity and how deeply the rapper feels, these reactions can be draining and may even penetrate the mind. After an inexplicable disappearance 10 years ago, the iconic CLUB Paradox makes its enigmatic return, claiming to usher in a long-awaited Phantom Live competition with a new group of performers called Paradox Live. With one coin worth 10 billion yen (the value changes whenever prompted), four gangs battle one another for control of the city—BAE, The Cat’s Whiskers, cosmez, and The Akanyatsura. Suspicious of the bizarre conditions, all of them enter the competition for their own reasons. The road to greatness, however, seems to be harsher than they might expect.
